The Doomsday

In page 67 of the book "The Doomsday Conspiracy", Sidney Sheldon says

 

"Yes, They did an experiment at Temple Buell College in Denver where healthy flowers were put in three separate glass cases. Acid Rock music was piped into one case, soft East Indian Sitar music was piped into the second case, and the third has no music. A CBS camera crew recorded the experiment, using time-lapse photography. At the end of two weeks, the flowers exposed to the rock music were dead, the group with no music was growing normally, and the ones that heard the Sitar music had turned into beautiful blooms, with stems & flowers reaching toward the source of the music. Walter Cronkie ran the film on his news show. If you wish to check it, it was on October 26, 1970"

 

But why did he mention as East India rather just India. Probably if he had mentioned as 'Indian Sitar' music, the western world would think it is a music of american Red Indians. They even don’t know the name Red Indians was derived because of us. I think, the day Columbus landed in the west was the Doomsday where we not only lost our richness but also the richness of the word 'India'.

 

Anyway, experiment proves that our Sitar music is simply the best music even nature likes :)

a trip to Godavari delta

The weekend visit to East Andhra for my colleague's marriage made me to think 'why not a trip around India?'

The lush greenary on the banks of Godavari & the small canal that runs paralled to the road (with farm fields on both sides till the end of eyesight), quietly energises the soul & eyes.

Kakinada - Kotaiyah's Kaja is a special sweet of the town (something like Pulla Reddy in Hyd & Adyar Anandha Bavan in Chennai),

Yanam - part of Pondicherry Government (thats my town)

Thratchapuram - one of Siva's triranga spot in Andhra, the other two are Srisailam & K

Andervedi - where Godavari merges with the Sea

Amalapuram

Also this is the first time I am attending a marriage that took place at night 10:30 PM.

Barcamp Hyd @ Google

An interesting incident happened this time

Thyagy & me reached the spot a bit late (as usual) and joined the queue at the Security gate to  get pass. Only when i said to Thyagy to get ready with the company ID card, i realised i didnt bring it (as usual). Luckily ADP gives a small card that i kept in my purse, so i took it and said 'hey heres' my ADP card'. I heard a voice from behind

X: Are you from ADP?

Me: Yes, how abt you?

X: No, I worked for ADP long back

Me: Oh, nice meeting you, so where do you work now?

X: I dont work...    I earn by blogging and live blogging

Me: Oh, so are you like Amit Agarwal? (wondering how many people started like Amit but the reply i heard was a little shock, probably now a simple guess for you)

X: I am Amit Agarwal

Me: (oh my god, am i speaking to Amit, the first professional Indian blogger) Nice meeting you Amit (at the road)

 

and thats a least way you expect to meet the celebrity of the day :)

Infact apart from getting goodies :) my interest to go to the camp lied in attending his presentation on 'how to blog with google adsense'

Amma Kolam

The best and the worst things happens so close to me with almost immediate in one following the other :)

Whats the best thing happened in the pongal holidays?

I took snaps of my mother's beautiful kolam , she drew on each day of pongal festival and uploaded in flickr

[ Kolam - is a decorative design drawn in a variety of sandpainting using rice powder by female members of the family in front of their home. A Kolam is a sort of painted prayer -- a line drawing composed of curved loops, drawn around a grid pattern of dots.] (Plural: Kolangal)

She makes her best artistic vision in designing the kolam in notebook to making it real in roads.

and whats the worst followed.... my system @ home gone down, making her not to upload her latest ones :(

I just assembled it not even a year ago (The story of my sweet PC)

Nevertheless i am happy to see my mother's beautiful kolangal in the web :)

Badminton

This time i was too eager to participate in Hyd 10K run , one of the famous run, jog or walk event in hyd. I registered for the event and even thought of going for a practise session arranged by the company

What happened atlast is a simple guess :)... ya, i didn't go for the event. but didn't miss the big event the day before, guess what...

note: if you have guessed someting by sneaking the above Photo, its a old trick (that too after i have clearly mentioned in the topic)

itz for Badminton practice... right, many of you might not be knowing that i am a good (சரி) decent badminton(shuttle) player.

I went for a professional classes (நம்புங்கப்பா) from std. XIII to IX and then dropped due to 10th exams. It then resumed at the college third year (iam not sure though) where myself and Mouly represented year (3rd yr Vs 2yr) and lost to some national players :) (இதையும் நம்பித்தான் ஆகனும்).

Then i went to trivandrum for my TCS training, where we had 2 shuttle courts in our hotel. But it was a new environment where people from Delhi, Calcutta, Punjab, Pondicherry all gathered. The guys from North took the courts and started playing as if they were the best (no bias here, just the rouse fact).

I just waited for my turn to enter and it arrived. That was most memorable badminton days where i just smashed the opponents and made them to turn back. Quickly earned some good badminton friends (and lost ofcourse, this was 3 yrs back). I still remember one guy who bowed and touched my feet during the last days of shuttle play for my simplicity and powerplay (sounds like trumpetting???)

...and then after a huge gap, i touched my racket for the company tournament (March 07) where i went till quarters and then it was just this Saturday (அதுக்குள்ள ஆறு மாசம்) for company practise for the upcoming tourny.
